Purushottama Month 2023

Join devotees around the world to celebrate this auspicious month

Purushottama Month 2023

The most auspicious month of Purusottama - July 18th to August 16th 2023.

Purusottama is a name of Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. “Purusa” is the enjoyer or Lord; Uttama is transcendental. Puruṣottama, is “The transcendental Supreme Lord.” So, this is the month of the Transcendental Supreme Lord. It is also known as an additional month, or Adhi masa.

It is said that this month is a SUPER SALE for Krishna consciousness because any spiritual activity one performs, one gets 1000 times benefit!

The Acharya's recommend for devotees to take advantage of this holy month and focus on our spiritual lives by committing to doing extra spiritual activities as our vratas or promises to Lord Krishna.

This most auspicious month only comes every few years so let us take this wonderful opportunity to get that extra mercy from the Lord as it is the BEST month for spiritual advancement

The Glories of Sri Purusottama Month

The glories of adhimasa are mentioned in the thirty-first chapter of the Naradiya Puraṇa. Adhimasa considered the sovereignty of the twelve months and saw that he was being slighted. He went to Vaikuntha and related his dilemma to Sri Narayana. Out of compassion, Vaikunthapati took Adhimasa with Him and appeared before Sri Krsna in Goloka. After hearing about the distress of malamasa (the impure month), Sri Krsna's heart melted and He spoke thus...
